Sibu Beauty-GIVEAWAY!(ENDED!)

Being a male, from the South, I really don't know too much about a skincare/beauty regiment, BUT, I now have found a company that could change all of that! It's very important to treat your skin well, no matter what age you are!

I want to introduce you to a great company called SIBU BEAUTY. My Aunt has used their products and LOVES them. All of the wonderful SIBU BEAUTY products are great for women, men (YES, we like to feel included & be pampered too!) and even children.

The journey to create a successful company can be as arduous as scaling a Tibetan mountainside, but well worth the view from the top. Bruce McMullin founded Sibu Beauty in 2003 after series of events led him to Calcutta, India where he crossed paths with an ayurvedic specialist in Chinese plants and herbs. In passing, this expert mentioned a powerful holy fruit, the seabuckthorn berry.

From there McMullin’s quest took him to new heights, figuratively and literally, as he journeyed to some of the most remote locations of the Himalayas to find the superior source of seabuckthorn that is the foundation for all Sibu products.

Repair and Protect

SIBU BEAUTY'S sea buckthorn facial cream, with omega 7 fatty acids, helps boost collagen production and creates the perfect barrier to moisturize, rejuvenate, repair and protect. This light, non-greasy cream is ideal for daily use and offers a pleasing, light citrus scent. It is paraben-free and cruelty-free, and contains NO dairy, yeast, wheat, gluten, sodium or preservatives.

Cleanse and Detox

Awaken your skin in the morning or wash away a day of stress and pollutants with pure, simple, clean and powerful Sibu Beauty sea buckthorn facial soap. Lathers thick and rinses with ease to cleanse, detox and moisturize, and repair the skin while creating a protective barrier against UV rays and cell damaging free radicals.

  • Revitalizes skin cells

  • Promotes tissue recovery and healing

  • Helps address rosacea and eczema symptoms

  • Made with whole sea buckthorn berry puree

  • 100% natural

I am thrilled to say that this company gives back! Read more by clicking HERE

GIFT WRAP IDEAS!

I have always taken wrapping gifts seriously! My Aunt, one Christmas, said that the gift I gave her was too pretty to unwrap haha-I used the large Christmas bulbs from old light strands and a paint pen and wrote the "to/from" on it! So much fun! It's the little touches that make a package special. I think I borrowed that idea from a t.v. show I had been watching! Check out this site:

GIFT WRAP IDEAS

I especially loved #4(being the retro freak that I am-I do think I lived a past life or something lol)It uses the retro ornament box! Fun!

Selecting the paper is important too. I prefer to use a GOOD quality, strong paper. Also, not using TOO much paper makes a huge difference. I have even wrapped kids gifts in the Comics from the Sunday paper! (Similar to the pic below) Alot of fun! I have also twisted $1 dollar bills into bows haha

Also, use old maps, tissue paper, plain brown craft paper, or pages from old books to wrap gifts! Very economical too!

Share YOUR gift wrap ideas below! I look forward to learning new ideas!

CHRISTMAS FOR KIDS!

**Updated: I just remembered a cute site! Go here to "elf yourself" haha

I stumbled across this website, NORTHPOLE.COM and it got me to thinking and reminiscing. To me, Christmas is about making the kids happy. Seeing their cute little faces light up when they start to make their Christmas wish list, talk about Santa Claus, and especially seeing their face on Christmas morning are all things that just make me enjoy the season more.

I remember as a child, barely being able to sleep on Christmas Eve, full of anticipation for what gifts I was going to get on Christmas morning. The stocking was always my favorite part for some reason haha

We didn't have the fancy Santa Trackers like kids have today, but we still couldn't wait to maybe even catch a glimpse of Santa on that special morning.

SANTA TRACKER

What favorite things do you remember about Christmas as a child?

Holiday Cards from Shutterfly!

I don't send out as many CHRISTMAS CARDS as I should, but I am going to let SHUTTERFLY make mine this year! They have many great designs such as THESE HOLIDAY STORY CARDS! SO much fun! I know friends who have ordered from Shutterfly and they were totally pleased with the quality!

I'm also thinking of making some WALL CALENDARS as gifts this year! I did make one of these last year(but didn't know about Shutterfly at the time) and the recipient loved it!!

My absolute favorite design is this OUR STORY ORNAMENT CARD! I would design this with photos of my brothers, my Aunt and myself and tell things that happened this year to us all! Here is the example below(without my own images, of course lol)

Shutterfly can even make your BABY SHOWER INVITATIONS!

I thought this design was so cute with the little baby clothes pinned to a clothes line haha

Clothes Line Pink Baby Shower Invitation

Give them a try today! I know I am!

Disclaimer:

I received a free item in exchange for writing this blog post. Anything that I write here is my own opinion and I am not required to say positive things about the company.

In Memory of my Mama: Holidays without Family!

Mama in 1989(Church photo)

Today's holiday post is in memory of my beloved Mama. She passed away, 16 years ago, on November 7, 1994 at the young age of 44,of leukemia, and I raised two young brothers after she passed. They were ages 14 and 8 at the time. It wasn't always easy, but it's some of the best years of my life! They are pretty much like my kids and I miss them badly! They moved away February of 2009, to Hollywood, CA to pursue their music career. Money has been tight among us all, so we haven't been able to visit each other. I pray that Santa Claus brings us a plane ticket lol

It is hard to believe that she's been gone so long. It seems like yesterday still. She would've turned 60 this past March. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss her!! The holidays just aren't the same, but I do still have my dear Aunt and my brothers/kids! I am thankful for that and I know that Mama is so proud of my brothers and I. I am VERY proud of them for living their dream and I feel like I must have done something right raising them, because they are successful, amazing young men today! I will always love you Mama and never, ever forget you!!

How do YOU get through the holidays and keep the memory/spirit of loved ones alive? It isn't easy, but I will be lighting a candle in memory of my Mama today and at the holidays.

My brothers, February 2009, the day they flew to California:

CHRISTMAS HUMOR & FUNNY VIDEOS

I love some of Martha Stewart's ideas, but let's face it, she has a TEAM of people helping her, unlike most of us average folks lol

I found this so funny:

Courtesy of My Merry Christmas.com

Martha Stewart's Christmas To-Do List
By Anonymous

December 1: Blanch carcass from Thanksgiving turkey. Spray paint gold, turn upside down and use as sleigh to hold Christmas Cards.
December 2: Have Mormon Tabernacle Choir record outgoing Christmas message for answering machine.

December 3: Using candlewick and handgilded miniature pine cones, fashion cat-o-nine-tails. Flog Gardener.

December 4: Repaint Sistine Chapel ceiling in ecru, with mocha trim.

December 5: Get new eyeglasses. Grind lenses myself.

December 6: Fax family Christmas newsletter to Pulitzer committee for consideration.

December 7: Debug Windows '95

December 10: Align carpets to adjust for curvature of Earth.

December 11: Lay Faberge egg.

December 12: Take Dog apart. Disinfect. Reassemble.

December 13: Collect Dentures. They make excellent pastry cutters, particularly for decorative pie crusts.

December 14: Install plumbing in gingerbread house.

December 15: Replace air in mini-van tires with Glade "holiday scents" in case tires are shot out at mall.

December 17: Child proof the Christmas tree with garland of razor wire.

December 19: Adjust legs of chairs so each Christmas dinner guest will be same height when sitting at his or her assigned seat.

December 20: Dip sheep and cows in egg whites and roll in confectioner's sugar to add a festive sparkle to the pasture.

December 21: Drain city reservoir; refill with mulled cider, orange slices and cinnamon sticks.

December 22: Float votive candles in toilet tank.

December 23: Seed clouds for white Christmas.

December 24: Do my annual good deed. Go to several stores. Be seen engaged in last minute Christmas shopping, thus making many people feel less inadequate than they really are.

December 25: Bear son. Swaddle. Lay in color coordinated manger scented with homemade potpourri.

December 26: Organize spice racks by genus and phylum.

December 27: Build snowman in exact likeness of God.

December 31: New Year's Eve! Give staff their resolutions. Call a friend in each time zone of the world as the clock strikes midnight in that country.

I also have always loved this song! I first heard it on our local radio station many years ago:

This post would not be complete without the uber famous, "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" lol

Share any funny websites, pics, links, etc. below that help you keep YOUR sanity at the holidays! Thanks!

CHRISTMAS DECORATINGl

One of my fave things to do at the holidays, is decorate. Although I haven't been in the Christmas spirit the last couple of years, all of this holiday talk has me in the mood haha

I have been watching HSN and QVC with their Christmas shows. I love the BETHLEHEM LIGHT COMPANY 's stuff that they show on QVC! Very high quality and high-end looking! Check them out!

My fave thing to do(and a family tradition) as a child, was to ride around our local town looking at everyone's display of lights. Some people go all out and it's amazing to see! I can only imagine how much time they spend on this!

I have been to New York City twice, but have never been in the winter. That is a dream of mine. I want to go when it's all lit up for Christmas. My family also used to attend the local church production of the "Living Christmas Tree". I was in awe at how well done this choir show was. I hope to find one in my area this year to attend!

What types of fun things do you like to do at the holidays? Any family traditions or things you did as a child that you want to carry on in your family?
